ARTS, A Reason to
Survive
is one of
the Guild’s community outreach programs. Founded in 2001 ARTS
provides free healing experiences in the visual, performing and
literary arts to children and their families facing adversity. In
February of this year ARTS opened the doors to its new 6,000 ft. Pat
D’Arrigo ARTS Center at the NTC Promenade in Point Loma. The
organization now offers a media center, a ceramics and sculpture
studio, a music room, space for drawing, painting, printmaking and
mixed media, and a gallery for exhibiting and selling artwork
created by the students.
In order to handle the growing number
of students the organization reaches, ARTS needs help with in-kind,
monetary and volunteer contributions. Some in-kind contributions
desired are: markers, crayons, colored pencils, paints and paint
brushes, musical instruments, ceramic tool sets, recording
equipment, digital and disposal cameras, a Mac laptop computer, a
projector and video camera. Office supplies and equipment are also needed.
If you can help in any way with in-kind,
monetary or volunteer time contributions, it would be appreciated.
Contributions can be made by contacting the RSF Guild office at
